ताओ ते चिंग Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu आसान हिंदी अनुवाद - Chapter 1a/81

Have you ever wondered why you can't describe the pleasure you get when you eat your favorite chocolate?

"Tao" means the way, or, more simply, the art of living. In his book, "Tao Te Ching," Lao Tzu tries to explain how we should live.

The first chapter contains five points, which we will discuss in two parts.

First point:

"The Tao that can be described in words is not the true Tao.

The name by which it can be called is not the true name."

Lao Tzu wrote in the very first line of his book, "The Tao that can be described in words is not the true Tao." So, does it end there? Should we just close the book? No, it's not like that... Lao Tzu is saying that no matter how hard he tries, he can't explain the true Tao in words; you have to understand it slowly. Just like the feeling you get after eating chocolate, it can't be described in words. No matter how hard you try, you can't explain that real feeling in words. Words only hint at it, they don't convey the full feeling; they can't make you feel the true joy. Therefore, we can't give that feeling a name even if we want to, because no name will be able to convey that full feeling.

Second thing:

That which has no name is the beginning of everything. It has no limit.

That which has a name becomes the mother of all things and is bound by limits.

Let's illustrate this with our favorite chocolate. Until we name that feeling, it can be as vast as it is, a mixture of many feelings, magical, even divine; it is limitless. But as soon as we give it a name, like "tasty," we confine it to the box of "tasty," confine it within limits. As soon as we name it, things become compartmentalized. They become divided. So, through the first two points, Lao Tzu tries to teach us not to rush to name the feelings, relationships, and things of life, but to experience them with an open mind, without any boundaries."

"I am translating them in easy words one by one, I will continue to upload subsequent chapters and any further information as it becomes available, . . . :)
